Summer School Art, Nature, and Fun!

I had a blast teaching Art, Nature, and You with the Evansville Community School District. I was blessed to work with a wonderful high school volunteer, Megan Klinger. The kids were incredible and had so much fun going for nature walks and making art that was inspired by them.
This was a great opportunity for me as an educator to start offering choice based stations to students. With any prompt I gave, I tried to give students as much choice as possible. The students did a great job of working creatively and exploring ideas that were personally interesting to them. For example, I had one student that continued to create drawings of birds. She stretched and explored her artistic mind as she tried making different types of birds such as cardinals, morning doves, and parrots.
We made paper using leaves, painted with mud, and learned all about nature using art. Some pictures of the fun are included below!
