Kindergarteners have been learning about ways that art can help us reimagine our community. We read a book called "Maybe Something Beautiful" by Isabel Campoy and Theresa Howell. In this book, a young girl named Mira reimagines her town by painting it with the help of a muralist. In class, we discussed what it means to be a community. We talked about different buildings seen around Evansville and ways that they could be reimagined from an artistic lens. Every student designed their own dream building and a dream plant. We put them together in a large collage to create a whole neighborhood of reimagined buildings in Evansville. Check out the incredible hallway display that they put together!
Here's some close ups of some of their amazing artwork!
Here are some of the resources I made to help students as they worked!
